Common Conditions We Treat

Acne

Almost everyone experiences acne at some time.  Acne is most common in teenagers, but it can also affect adults, especially women.  There are very treatments for acne.

Aging Skin

Our skin changes as we age.  With the passing of time, our skin develops wrinkles, lines and furrows.  This can be noted as early as our twenties.  There are effective prescriptive and cosmetic treatments.

Atopic Dermatitis

A skin rash disorder that is sometimes called eczema.  Very common and can affect approximately 20% of the population.  

Alopecia

Autoimmune disorder in which your body's immune system mistakenly attack the hair follicles.  This can lead to hair loss on the scalp and everywhere.  

Brown Spots

Also called hyperpigmentation, can develop for a variety of reasons.  Treatment includes prescriptions, cosmetic procedures and dermatological agents. 

Cellulitis and Skin Abscess

Caused by skin an overgrowth of harmful bacteria on the skin.  Presents as painful, swollen and sometimes pus-filled pockets.  Antibiotics required and may need drainage by medical professional.

Fungal Nail Infection

Fungal infections of the toenail and fingernails are common.  If left untreated it can permanently affect how the nail will grow.  Treatment consist of both oral and topical prescriptions.

Hives

A rash caused by an allergic reaction to food, drink, skin contact irritants to name a few.  It is typically more itchy than a regular rash and prescription medication is required to stop the itch.

Poison Oak/Ivy

Usually noticed itchy rash that sometimes accompanied by blisters after working in the yard or out camping.  

Psoriasis

Characterized by red scaly patches usually noted on the elbows and knees but can occur in other areas. Consider to be autoimmune, longterm medications are required.

Shingles

Painful, blistering appearing rash caused by the same virus as chickenpox.  Can be contagious, prescription medication is required. Avoid pregnant women and children.

Tinea Versicolor

Common fungal skin infection that may cause dark or lighter patches usually of neck, chest and back.  Treatment consist of prescriptive medication

Warts
